Blue Cruise Kusadasi-Marmaris Request this tour This is a suggested sailing itinerary for Private charters. This is not a fixed cruise. Gulets or motor yachts and bareboaters who would like to start in the northern part of Turkey and sail south. This is a lot of sailing in a short period of time, a much better itinerary of course, would be for 10 -14 days. But what we wanted to show is the flexibilty one can have in private chartering. Also note that Canakkale has a new marina which allows large yachts safe harboring.
DAY 1 Embarkation in Kusadasi - Tour Ephesus
Ephesus is one of the largest archaelogical sites in the world and really does have to be seen to be believed. You will have the opportunity to wander down the marble streets lined with shops and civic buildings, photograph the magnificent decade of the library of celcus, sit on the communal latrines and gossip to your friends as the Romans did or even try to find the secret passage to the brothel! And finally, enter into the theatre and imagine the electric atmosphere of 25,000 cheering Romans. A day in Ephesus is a day to get away from the present and to relive the past grandeurs of this amazing city. The famous Temple of Artemis which was one of the seven wonders of the world is another stop on this tour. The solitary column from the Temple that is left today is enough to challenge even the most archaelogical of minds.
DAY 2 Miletus - Didyma Didyma is located 16 kms from Milteus. Its interesting history, beaches of fine sand, and brillant sun all make Didyma one of the most attractive places in the Aegean. The Temple of Apollo is one of the most impressive and magnificent ancient monuments of Asia Minor. The Altinkum Beach is famous for its fine golden sands. The city is thought to have been founded by Milteus, the grandson of the Creatan King Minos, and was renowned for the mathematicians and philosophers it produced. It was an important commercial port at that time but as a result of silting up, the city is now an inland one. Amongst the ruins at Milteus are the remains of an amphitheatre agora, temple of Athena and a mosque from the Ottoman period.
DAY 3 Gulluk - Bodrum Bodrum, the native land of the famous historian Heredot, is an important tourism center in Turkey, which attracts attention for its natural beauties as well as its history. In the year 1000 B.C., those who came here during the Doric migrations, settled in the area where the fortress stands today and mixed with the native people. So, the city of Halicarnassos was founded. The city, which was captured by the Lydians in the first half of the 6th century B.C
In the year 377 B.C. Mausolos got hold of Western Anatolia, had many cities constructed in the region of Caria, and had the capital of Caria moved from Milas to Halicarnassos. With the aim of enlarging the city, Mausolos had six of the nine Leleg cities moved to this region, and had the city surrounded with walls and had many palaces, theaters and temples built in the city.
DAY 4 Cleopatra Bay
Sailing to Cleopatra's Bay, which is reportedly to have been used by Cleopatra when she escaped with Mark Anthony. Enjoy swimming and watersports.
DAY 5 Knidos - Datca The ancient city of Knidos is situated at the extreme end of the Datça Peninsula. There are harbors on both sides of Deveboynu cape. Knidos was renowned as the city of the goddess of love. After raising a toast to Aphrodite in the sunset and enjoying the delicious local fish we set sail for new horizons and Datça. The first stopping place after Knidos is Palamut Bükü. The Triopium, the religious center of the Dorian Confederation, was located here. After leaving Palamut harbor and passing Cape Adatepe, we enter Adatepe Bay which should be approached keeping clear of the rocks at the end of the eastern cape and of the cliffs that divide the beach. Than we pass Cape Kargili Bük and Cape Parmak and arrive at the forest encircled Magara ("Cave") Bay whose name is derived from the sea cave at the eastern entrance Passing Inceburun, we enter Kargi Bay just before Datça. .
Datça is a county seat and the name given to the entire peninsula. After Datça we come to broad Çiftlik Harbor, which is located between the Adatepe peninsula and Çiftlik Island. We pass Kuruca Island and Bozan Cape reaching Bencik, at the narrowest part of the peninsula.
After leaving Bencik, we enter Hisarönü harbor where the ruins of Bybasos are to be found. On the southeastern side of the gulf is Keçibükü Bay, inside of which there is an island. Keçibükü is the best anchorage. On the island are the ruins of a fort. A bit inland from this bay is the village of Orhaniye and the ruins of Bybasos are located on a hill above the village.
DAY 6 Bencik - Kecibuku We pass Kuruca Island and Bozan Cape reaching Bencik, at the narrowest part of the peninsula.
