Archanes Villas is indeed a nice, traditional property - member of the Maris chain and the short distance from Heraklion and Knossos makes it a good alternative for those who will not want to stay in town. Especially since Arhcanes is a really beautiful village, very well-kept.

You can't beat the location as it lies next door to the archaeological museum. Renovation included adding an Atrium which definitely gave it more space in common areas. Rooms are adequate for space and the decor is nice, not very elaborate but has all the amenities needed for 1-2 night stay.

A name that speaks for itself. An oasis where indulgence is guaranteed. The architect behind this wonder, Spyros Kokotos, has materialised his vision of form and color in this creation of exuberant luxury. Lovely antiques, priceless woodwork, and cool marble combine in a joyful harmony that will arouse the sentiments of any visitor. Positioned on a peninsular strech of land seaward of the Porto Elounda de Luxe Resort, the Peninsula enjoys an unparalleled view of the Bay of Elounda, Mirabello Bay, and the expanse of the Aegean Sea. The view is blue as far as the eye can see.

Villa Andromeda in Chania in Crete is a Neo-Classical mansion built in 1870. It has been very carefully restored so as to preserve its characteristic 19th century architecture. From the veranda you can admire a panoramic view of the Venetian walls and the old town of Chania, with its houses of dressed stone bearing all the colours that the centuries have left. During the period of the Autonomous Cretan State (1897-1912), Villa Andromeda housed the German Consulate. During the period of the Second World War it housed the German High Command and for a short period hosted Field-Marshal Erwin Rommel.
