We depart from Thessaloniki in the morning and we travel along the Olympic Coast where you can admire Mt. Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and mythological residence of the ancient gods.
During the trip, we shall have a 15 minute coffee break. After crossing the picturesque Tempi Valley and the cities of Larissa and Trikala we reach Meteora, this unique miracle of nature, which you have to see to believe. Meteora constitutes the second in size of centres for monastic life in Greece.
We shall visit two of the marvellous monasteries, which look as if they are hanging in the air - and we shall learn about their history through the icons, the banners and the other relics. Each monastery has many wonderful frescos and icons. Stop at Kalambaka for a meal, optionally. Return to Thessaloniki.
