The hotel is located in Cihangir – a quiet, trendy neighbourhood with a bohemian flair. Like SoHo in London or New York, the area is filled with cafes and boutiques popular with local artists and expat hipsters alike. It’s an oasis of calm in this bustling city, yet many of Istanbul’s main attractions are just some 5-10 minutes away. The Witt is walking distance to the main business district, Istanbul Modern Museum and famous sights such as Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. The Hagia Sophia and the Sultanahmet Mosque can be reached by a short taxi or tram ride.

Guests at the Witt often linger in their rooms thanks to their cosy, modern-retro style. The open plan of the suites allows you to enjoy the design elements in one unseparated package from the living room to the bedroom and kitchenette.
Award-winning Istanbul-based designers Autoban have filled the 17 suites with their unique, edgy furnishings. There are curved headboards on the beds, artistically carved wooden banisters, functional laptop desks and elegant wardrobes all featuring a floral motif designed especially for our hotel. You will find this motif everywhere, make note of the check-in desk and on the wall of the ground floor.
Sheets for the king sized beds and towels for the bathroom were commissioned from linen specialists in Denizli, a Turkish town famous for producing high-quality fabrics.
In the marble bathrooms you will find the enigmatic fittings of Ross Lovegrove, an industrial designer who created the Istanbul bathroom collection for Vitra. This brand has become unique in bathroom architecture particularly for the famed rounded shapes of Lovegrove. At the Witt there are flowing Corian sinks, pebble-shaped handles for taps and most importantly, the famous six head rain shower for the most serene water experience.
“Room with a view” is a good way to describe the 17 suites at the Witt Istanbul Suites. Not only do all enjoy a unseparated space of 60 sqm featuring a king sized bed, marble clad kitchenette and living room as part of an open plan, but the views are one of our guests’ favorite features.
Look out the window and transpose the domes of Renaissance Florence from Forster’s original novel for the mosques and minarets of Istanbul or the velvet blue of the Bosphorus Strait. In the morning linger in your suite to enjoy the view and order in your breakfast, or sip a cocktail at night watching the lights along the Golden Horn.
But the views are not the only thing that will encourage you to stay in. The bathroom features the design work of Ross Lovegrove, and the marble kitchenette is well decked out to make you feel comfortably at home. It contains a microwave, mini bar fridge, Nespresso machine and a variety of kitchenware that long term guests particularly enjoy as it allows them to be a little more independent.
The beds are all king sized allowing for extra comfort and feature the modernist design elements of Autoban, take note particularly of the gorgeous curved headboards. The closets, featuring similar Autoban designs, have shelves, drawers and shoe racks so you can really unpack and settle in.
If you feel like relaxing let the leather sofa and marble coffee table invite you into the living room. There’s plenty of entertainment as well thanks to the LCD TV, an excellent DVD collection, CD/DVD player and an iPod docking station. And thanks to the soundproofed walls you can enjoy these freely without worrying about guests next door. For those with business needs there’s also free WiFi Internet, wireless phones, a study desk and safe for valuables.
