Amorgos Pristine Amorgos has escaped the tourist invasion suffered by other Cycladic islands because of its diminutive size. In the past most visitors only came by private boats, due to the lack of ferry connections. Naxos now puts it within reach of a day trip, and for longer stays there are now regular connections from Santorini as well. The streets are very clean, lined with whitewashed houses, with overflowing flower pots filled with geraniums and bouganvillaeas; a perfect postcard. The days' activities might include enjoying the sea or a few different villages. Perhaps take a hike to the monastery on top of the mountain, or something much easier like catching a small fishing boat to some remote beach on the other side of the island. Although it seems quite like other Greek islands, there are enough wonderful tavernas and appealing music to satisfy all of your senses.
